Age of the Sincaster?
Well, after 3+ months of not playing I finaly went back to playing GW. I went to pvx to look for builds, and I found something...disturbing. Out of 5 assassin builds, one of them are an actual, good old fashion dagger assassin build. The rest? Sincasters.
I have to ask, why? Have the nerfs become so bad that we no longer trust the old fashion AoD in, sinspike, and leave strategy?

Don't remember when they added aftercast to almost all shadowsteps, you might have left before then. Anyway, almost all shadowsteps have a .75 second aftercast now meaning they're almost entirely protable.
TBH the only three sin builds I see in RA are A/Mo knockdown spam, A/W Backbreaker, and then a DB/MS sin. Oh, and a straight healer once

damn though. I think I'm like the only shattersin in RA
Those assacasters piss the hell outta me.
I used to run the AoD builds, especially in those Priest arenas, but i got frustrated and stopped went up against so many of those blinders/blockathon guys. Its like a blindfest/blockfest in RA now. Thats why people play assacasters I guess--unblockable, unconditional damage w/out the hassle of blind/blocks.

^^ Wins the thread.
And they aren't THAT common now, a long time ago before the DP nerf they were alot more common.

You will find them used more often because most of the other non-fail alternatives for PvP assassin have been nerfed by now. Izzy prefers assassins underpowered as oposed to overpowered.. and with assassins its one or the other.

sincasters was a dumb idea from the start. sins with staffs casting high energy cost long recharge skills make it very easy to sqeeuze some simple heal/prot from any prof between cooldown, making sincasters useless imo.

Sin Casters were decent prior to the deadly paradox nerf. I had one power-block variant that basically interrupted the monk, then proceeded to own them with high damage and knockdowns. Another variant used Blinding Surge to deal with almost any melee.
I stopped using this arch-type once DP's casting cost and recharge rate was nerfed from 50% down to 33%.

More damage, more time needed. Then you need to trigger the deep wound and every now and then it doesn't happen. Not to mention it's an addon of interruption and makes your chain alot more suspectable to interrupts.
